Clinical Informatics Specialist II (ACD)
May utilize a combination of clinical/operational expertise and knowledge of patient care, operational processes, and information systems requirements to participate in design, specification, implementation and evaluation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Conducts application testing and assists with staff training; participates in development and the review of training and policy and procedure materials. Acts as a knowledgeable resource regarding the EMR, and ensures effective problem resolution at an application and initial technical level. Supports users during implementation and as needed; assists staff with making the transition from current to new automated practices while incorporating change management principles.

Cerner Order Sets Addendum:
Responsible for the build and maintenance of Cerner PowerPlans used in the inpatient and clinic settings. 1.Performs workflow analysis of multidisciplinary healthcare provider activities, and translates into optimal system design and content for organizational and unit-based practice.
2.Leads, facilitates, and consults with multidisciplinary healthcare provider work teams in the specification and design of the EMR for order management, clinical data repository, documentation, clinical pathways, and clinical and operational decision support.
3.Provides onsite and remote support to clinicians and others during application implementations and as needed. Works closely with Information Technology Customer Support services to provide efficient and responsive support to end user staff.
4.Performs other duties as assigned.
Behavioral Health, Home Health, and Hospice Accountabilities:
-Provides onsite and remote IT support to Behavioral Health, Home Health, and Hospice programs
-Coordinates with IT analysts to review McKesson updates, determine clinical impact, perform testing, and develop education for leadership and clinical staff
-Participates in RPIW's to determine software solutions to improve workflow processes and build, test, and initiate changes as appropriate
-Collaborates with Quality and Leadership departments to develop and implement plan for changes necessary to meet regulatory requirements
-Collaborates with EHCS Educators to inform on McKesson changes, develop education, and implement training plan
-Provide staff training for both clinical and office based staff as appropriate
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
Advanced clinical degree.
Current Washington State RN license or other professional licensure/certification
Current BLS Provider certification by date of hire
3 years recent clinical and/or operational experience working with acute or ambulatory care
1 year recent experience designing, writing specifications, configuring, training or implementing clinical applications
Demonstrated ability to work with and facilitate multidisciplinary clinician groups as part of a clinical information system implementation
DESIRED for the position:
Certification in Informatics upon hire – or to be obtained within 2 years of hire
