Assists the Executive Director in the day-to-day operations and profit and loss of the Neurosciences and MSK (musculoskeletal) medical clinics including Evergreen Sport and Spine, Evergreen Rehabilitation, Evergreen Neurosciences Institute, and EH Orthopedic and Sports Care clinics as assigned. Responsibilities include staff management, patient scheduling, patient flow, medical records, patient accounting, supply ordering, complaint resolution, audit and budget functions, and charge reconciliation and capture.
•Monitors budgeted expenses on a monthly and annual basis. On an annual basis, assists the clinic Managers in development of the office revenue, expense and capital budgets within EvergreenHealth guidelines.
•Ensures appropriate and adequate staffing including the administrative support staff.
•Assists clinic Managers with ensuring the office and personnel are in compliance with EvergreenHealth policies.
•Collaborates with clinic Managers to ensure regulatory compliance with all governing agencies or bodies (OSHA, JC, Medicare, HIPAA etc.).
•Responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and security of the patient medical record within the office.
•Trains and monitors staff in proper PMSI use and EMR processes and procedures and updates.
•Works in collaboration with the Clinic Supervising Provider (CSP), EH Clinical QI Specialist, EH Clinical Informatics Specialist and others as appropriate on the development of continuous quality improvement culture and follow through of projects from design through completion, learning and next steps.
•Coordinates with clinic Managers on the CQI indicator monitoring, data collection and reporting.
•Addresses all billing and coding issues and assists clinic Managers in remediation.
•Provides oversight of office/business unit activities and communicates issues in a timely fashion to department management.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED for the position:
•Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•4 years of related healthcare experience
•3 years of supervisory experience in a health care setting, preferably in a medical clinic
•Background in A/R, A/P, General Ledger and preparation of financial statements
•Strong PC literacy with full suite of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships to enhance outcomes
•Strong customer service and problem resolution skills; strong critical thinking skills
•Good organizational and time management skills
DESIRED for the position:
•Experience supervising multiple medical teams
•Experience with patient accounting and health plan referral process
•Experience with billing/coding and special programs, such as ICD-10 and meaningful use
•Experience with ambulatory EMR system.
•Financial background in healthcare environment including insurance billing, CPT coding, and ICD-9 coding
