EvergreenHealth is seeking a dedicated, skilled, driven and passionate nurse who is looking to grow as a leader by forming part of the close knit Family Maternity Center leadership team. The Nurse Manager is operationally responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of designated patient care services within the Family Maternity Center to include Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, and Post-Partum. They will collaborate with medical staff and all departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the Nursing Departments, EvergreenHealth, and the District at large. This position provides operational leadership support to the Executive Director; exercises functional supervision over professional, technical, service, and support staff in assigned areas of responsibility. The manager forms part of the leadership team that includes the Women’s & Children’s Executive Director, Nurse Managers, Perinatal CNS, Clinical Educator, and Care Coordinators.
EvergreenHealth was the first hospital in the nation to be recognized by the World Health Organization as a Baby Friendly Hospital and has maintained this recognition ever since. The 36-bed (LDRP) unit delivers over 4,600 births a year and includes high risk OB with a maternal-fetal program that is one of only 24 programs in the country to treat Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
Primary Job Duties
Accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced by creating a learning environment that is open and respectful, and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes
Facilitates patient care including organization and management within established policies, procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters and strategic objectives
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care
Assesses and evaluates staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel in relation to patient care required
In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and monitors annual capital and operations budgets. Coordinates development and implementation of appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances
License, Certifications, Education and/or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
•Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN)
•Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
•Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
•Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in perinatal or critical care nursing with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership experience (i.e. charge nurse, etc.)
DESIRED for the position:
•Master’s degree in nursing or related field
•Previous experience in a management or leadership role in an inpatient care setting
•Current ANCC or NCC certification
